what to look for when purchasing an m50 e30

i'm going to look at an e30 with an m50 in it. would should i ask and what should i look for?

Besides looking for the basic, routine e30 stuff, I would look at the engine install carefully to make sure that it was done cleanly and correctly. Look at the wire harness and look how they spliced the connectors together. Look at the overall detail that they took while installing the engine and think to yourself if this looked like a 2 min job or something that they actually took care to do.

If you could get under the car, the exhaust would be a good part to check out too.
