well im new to this site and i have a 90 VW GTI w/ a 2.1L 8v, i was told to stop in buy the forum creator, ill eventually ask for a 535 MAF sensor/box but for now i just wanted to say snoochie boochies :twisted:

Interesting, what does the M30 AFM do for those motors anyway?

I gave one to a local VW guy up here, he did the same swap, never asked him.

Not really, I heard roumours and when I tried it I lost 11bhp over the stock airbox and M20 AFM. I'm sure if it was tweaked a lot there are gains to be had but it's a fiddly bugger to set up.

it works, but you have to swap the internals of your M20 AFM so it doesn't mess up the computer, then you end up with a larger opening so *more* air can flow *easier*.
oh, and its NOT AN MAF! Its an AFM... HUGE differrence here.

thanks for the response, i would love to post up pics, but dont have good pics, or a scanner. jordan has seen it thought. hopefully soon i can get some pics and scan them at the library...its a black 90 GTI like stated above, lowered on eibach with KYB ajustables in the back and stock rebuilt in the front, right now im running winter rims and tires(14" BBS rx knockoffs)but in summer i run 15X7.5 MOMO Racers, w/ Falken Azenis sport RT-215's...and thanks for the clarification on AFM...airflow meter? what u getting paited at freebird jordan?
