    My First E30 (with pics)

Trailered her home yesterday. 1989 w/ 103k miles and is bone stock. It even has the factory tape player. Everything works inside. It needs the power steering and AC repaired but other than that its in great shape. Im not really sure what direction im going to go with it. It has zero rust and you can tell that it has been loved by someone. Let me know what you think.

And so it begins! Have you worked on many before? If not, put on your reading glasses and read-up here on R3V (using SEARCH!!) and most of us would recommend the Bentley Service Manual.

    Welcome to R3V.

Oh, and nice schwarz. Congrats on the low miles (I'm jealous).

So I was just messing with it a little and tried to adjust the seat and neither seat will slide forward or back. I looked under the seat and the mechanism is working to release the seat from the track but it wont slide...what am i doing wrong?

if you can see the stuff working under the seat properly. id start looking for change or something in the seat rails. That or you aren't pushing hard enough and need to lube the rails up.

I weigh about 230lbs and Im pretty fit so I dont think that the applied force is an issue. I'll start looking for change.

Check to see if something is is the way like a penny, pen etc. that is stopped it from sliding. I would lube it first.

With the seats, you can un-bolt them from the floor (just 4 bolts), so you can get a good look at what's going on with them.

I've seen some seats like ours, that have been tack welded in place...

The seats are fixed....lots of lube and they eventually loosened up. I had originally bought this with the thoughts of doing an M50 swap and all that but its just soooooo clean. I can't even find any dirt under the seats.
