Actually, I have the interior knob to adjust the headlight level, and also the euro ellipsoids that came so equipped with that feature. Problem is, I HAVO NO IDEA (and mechanic seems to be able to help me) on how to make all this work! It seems that the tubing is not vacuum air related, but works with oil? If someone can help on this subject, that would be great! P.M me if you wish...or start a new topic on the forums.

The system is hydraulic and is very un-reliable, the pipes perish with age, and the oil leaks out and they no longer adjust, it is very rare to find an E30 with them working over here! Everyone changes to the manual adjusters.

That is a pity actually. What inspired me the most to buy this, was that the adjusting knob surround, lights up at night the orange/red. Need I say more?

I'm not surprised however about the unreliability of the thing. Nevertheless, there has got to be a way to put this together, and perhaps do a better job than the factory did. Again, I can easily see how one in Europe, would convert back to manual operation.

There are a couple of guys on the e30zone that have converted the adjusters to electric motors from an E34 I think it was, and have dismantled the adjuster and built it back up to work the motors, now that is trick and looks stock too, also that's the way it should have been done from the factory.
From what I gather though, this isn't an easy job, but for someone that's good wiith electrics would be easy?
