very crazy idea

I posted this idea. I live in Ohio. I have been mostly a ford guy over the years and I have a '66 mustang that is my project. It is almost ready to run.

I figure a stock 5.0 is about 225 hp/290 ft pd torque. They are a dime a dozen at the wreckers. I can get on set up and run it on a carb to go the easy route for under $400. I think the t5 would fit in the tran tunnel and then you would only have to have the shaft shortened. That and make some custom motor mounts which shouldn't be a big deal.

I think I could easily do this for under $1k.

add some exhaust blah blah blah and I am pushing 300 hp easy. Although the stock hp/trq would probably be plenty for this small car. Just something I was thinking about. it would be kind of cool.

Don't know if I have the time for it though.

over all I think it probably would be worth while. The car really doesn't have any value now. I don't race it. I don't think I will part it. Right now it sits and might get used once a month when I am all dirty from wrenching in the garage and I don't want to drive the Mopar or the '66. So the Barron is more or less the beater. I guess this spring I will sell or trade it.

I'm always amazed at what a turd that motors is. 5 whole liters and that is all that is puts out? Pathetic.
