I posted this idea. I live in Ohio. I have been mostly a ford guy over the years and I have a '66 mustang that is my project. It is almost ready to run.
I figure a stock 5.0 is about 225 hp/290 ft pd torque. They are a dime a dozen at the wreckers. I can get on set up and run it on a carb to go the easy route for under $400. I think the t5 would fit in the tran tunnel and then you would only have to have the shaft shortened. That and make some custom motor mounts which shouldn't be a big deal.
I think I could easily do this for under $1k.
add some exhaust blah blah blah and I am pushing 300 hp easy. Although the stock hp/trq would probably be plenty for this small car. Just something I was thinking about. it would be kind of cool.
