    Modest Mouse R0X0rZ t3h SB

    Hey guys-
I went to the modest mouse concert last night with my girlfriend and man was it badass. Awesome small venue (1,800 people) in downtown Santa Barabra.
It was sweet. Anyone else seen them in concert?

The moon and antartica IS by far their best cd, im not a big fan of their newest stuff but apparently it brought them a bunch of new fans. I have seen one of their shows and IMO I would rather just here them on CD. If your really down for Modest Mouse you should try to go see the Arcade Fire in concert. They fuckin rip.

They played in San Fran for "Not So Silent Night" amongst like 5 other bands. I liked them live. Hell the whole damn show was badass.

I freakin' love Modest Mouse. I saw them at Deck the Hall Ball in Seattle, and almost went to see them at the Crystal Ball Room in Portland (they sold out 5 nights in a row). They are better live than I expected, but not the greatest live band I've seen.

So The Moon and Antarctica, as said above, is their best album. I have seen them twice, once at Bumbershoot 2003 and then with my brother (Darkwing6) at Key Arena. They are pretty good live (one of my favorite bands not live), but would be far better if Isaac Brock stayed sober for the performances.

Hmmm lets see.... list of best songs ever for driving music...

                  Dramamine
Gravity Rides Everything (unfortunately used in a Nissan mini-van commercial)
                  Truckers Atlas
                  Stars are Projectors

I agree with the general consensus that older Modest Mouse rules all. The new cd only had 2 or 3 songs that tickled me just right. The older cds there wasn't a single track I skipped.

The other day my roommate and I compiled a CD of great proportions. It could take over the world. It's definately music geared towards just late night cruise not aggresive driving music. If anyone is interested and would like to create a CDMD (compact disc of mass destruction) just say so and I'll post the track listing.

Dramamine = Best MM song ever.

I was hoping to go to the shows up in Portland at the Crystal Ballroom but they sold out so damn fast. The place has a floor that sits on springs which slide on ball bearings. It was made in the 20s for swing dancing. It's like walking on air, it's badass. But anyhow... they had two shows scheduled, and both sold out so fast that MM decided to play 3 more shows.

That is a damn good song. I love at the end when everything goes backwards.
