I've got a Magnaflow (3" system) and small one helped me out. It didn't so much kill the dBs as it did shift the resonant frequency to a lower rpm. That is to say, it is quieter @ 70mph but louder @ 60mph.

I have a 2.25" single system with a cat and resonator (don't know what brand) to a 14815 on my m20. It's as quickervicar says it drones like hell still until its above 3000rpms. It is just a loud ass muffler. I made the mistake of replacing my no name which looked like a 14815 with square tips a 14815 when the old one rusted out. It does sound good when you open it up but cruising the drone kills me.
