Fucking A, finally ANYONE else who corroborates my story, thank you!
I have NFC what is happening with SEM, but their color coat products carried at my local upholstery supply house are all on clearance, except black.
WTF! Grab a crappy seat back or something, wipe it down with acetone and get to spraying!
I would bet as much as $1 that it would work great.Comment

Leather dye is NOT glorified paint. The SEM spray can crap is, but that isn't leather dye. All sanding will do to leather is remove it's finish and make the surface ruff. You can't dye a dark color lighter. You also will have a hard time dying anything white any other color as the white shows through so brightly.
Vinyl is a whole nother story.Comment

On my dads F450 truck, the tan color on the leather steering wheel was starting to wear off at 15,000 miles. I hate painted leather, on top of the fact that the color wears off, the color never looks like a natural dye, it looks like err...paint.Comment

I agree with buying this cardinal set and recovering the front seats. If what you have is worth the trouble of dying it is likely in nice enough shape to be worth it for some else to buy from you. Changing a colour from black to lighter colour may work for the short term but I wouldn't give it much mileage.
Just my 2 cents but good luck with what ever you decide.Comment
