    Stripping paint from ABS?

Well I had a little offroad excursion with the E30 and the Alpina dam took a bit of damage and the new paint is toast. There was a really thick layer of primer over it and then it was primed and painted again. I want to strip off all the paint down to the bare ABS but I dont know what product to use to achieve this, any recomendations.

I guess I will give the SEM a shot, its got like 4 layers on it. and its pretty thick. I actually used a little torch and lightly bubbled it up and scraped off w/ razor, works perfect but I doubt its very good to heat and cool even though the ABS itself isnt getting much more that warm.

or just dump a bunch of brake fluid on it...

PS don't do that. while it will strip paint like a mofo it is not a very even removal process.

use the SEM bumper strip or kleen strip for bumpers if you can find it. most other stuff will contaminate the plastic and lead to issues when you go to repaint it.

PM myself or jean ( i just gave him the rundown on what to do after he posted that thread), if you have any questions.

and NO HEAT GUN/FIRE on the poor plastic very bad *smacks with rolled up newspaper*

when you DA it don't start with anything more coarse than 120 grit. you will also want to pick up some evercoat OEM METALGLAZE for filling scratches and skimming it if it gets "fuzzy" from sanding. the metalglaze is flexible enough to work for bumper repairs. be sure you prep the scratches before you lay a spread with some kind of a wax and grease remover and blow it dry with compressed air.
prep work is the main thing in plastic repair stuff.
