Reassembling 3pc wheels: can I use any silicone sealant?

The wheels are bolted up so the last step is to seal them.

So can I use any silicone sealant, like the white DAP stuff at Home Depot, to seal up the wheel?

Or do I need special stuff?

just use any pure silicone and do it in 3 coats. use your finger and fill the cracks. than smooth it out. let it dry and do another covering a larger area and smooth out and let dry. then do a 3rd.

Home Depot and Lowes carry GE Silicone II.

DAP is mostly acrylic / latex, which should not be used to seal wheels.

Thanks for the replies as that is what I wanted to know about the DAP product.

I'll go pick up some of the GE silicone on the way home.
