I drive my 02 on the freeway at 85mph and in traffic all the time despite having a mongrel tired out $100 junkyard engine. Aside from the lack of AC in hot climates, they're plenty refined and make for a fine DD unless you're a total wimp.

      Try a compromise.

      e21.

      323 or a 320iS.

2002 > e30 every day of the week. My 2002, (when it was a stock tii) I did the suspension, and would haul, and LOVE driving that car. road trips, whatever, It was great, and almost never let me down. Then I decided to turbo it, and shit started breaking. well, I dont regret it, and I love the damn car. way way way more of a driver's car.

Here are some pics of my 76 2002

My car had a awesome suspension set up and handled fantastic. It was a great back road driver. I will echo the fact that it got a ton of attention from people, too.

The 76s were geared short and my car had a free flow header and exhaust. This equaled a unbelievable amount of noise on the highway. My car begged for a 5 speed swap. You couldn't hear yourself think at 80 mph.

I bought a 89 325is at the same time I had the 76 02 and decided it was a much more livable car for my purposes.

Yep. It was a pretty well known car on the FAQ. I bought the car from Larry. Larry is a good guy.

I did a lot of work to the interior, drivers floor pan, and put on the basketweaves. I live a town over from where Creighton lives and met him once. I found him to be a very odd guy. He seemed much more willing to help people over the forum than when I met him in person.

I sold the car on ebay to a guy in Austin,TX.

Might want to look into a medium case differential if you plan on putting any real power through an e10, or e21 for that matter...w/ good tire of course.
