    I think if it has the large tails it will be directly compatible with the plastic bumpers, thats an '88 model I think. I'm not so clued in on all the US models, being from Aus.

    The most important thing I think is to find one thats a solid base, you can always buy the nice bits from wreckers/forums/ebay etc.

      If I was in the market for an E30, this is what I would do, in order:
      [1] Try to buy the one sefb222 has (had?) for sale
      [2] Check to see if either Vlad or Levent has one for sale.
      [3] Hold out until I could find a 24V swapped car with the build quality seen in the first 2 options

        I wish you good luck with your E30!
        Try and stick to the following:

        1.Decide what exact model/engine you re after!
        2.Take your time.Patience is a virtue.
        (Took me 3 months to locate mine).
        3.Look out for rust in the arches/underneath spoilers etc.
        4.Take your time and take advice from a trusted mechanic.
        5.Drive it cold.The E30 tends to reveal a lot when cold.
