My wife's last car, the Explorer (good riddance) hemorraged oil and power steering fluid almost constantly, and now there's a ungodly huge oil stain / dried pile of vital engine fluids on my asphalt driveway. I need to know the best way to get rid of it. I was thinking of renting a pressure washer and just blasting it off, does anyone have any ideas?
Best way to clean oil-stained asphalt driveway?

The pressure washer should do it. God knows how much stuff that gets off of our's.The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance. -
How do you see it if it is asphalt?
That being said, pressure washer and some CLR-type solvent would do it.

Yea. Get some plastic wrap, gasoline from the station, and some Tide powder detergent. Have an new oil pan so you can make a mixture of these two together. Mix the Tide in the gasoline until you get a sort of paste, then rub the paste along the stain until it is completely covered. Cover the entire thing with plastic wrap and secure it with weights or what have you. If you let this bake in the sun for a day or two, it should lift up a large portion of the stain.I retired my E30 for now...

Our 11hp Pressure Washer starts to peel concrete with the right nozzle. So I'd say screw the chemicals and man up.Comment

ether, will work miracles. and if it's a warm day it'll cool your hands off nicely.....
put the ether on it, it'll lift it and about 30 seconds later pressure wash. ether evaporates quite rapidly. so move fast. if you just use the pressure washer the oil will still keep showing through.Comment
