    Bay area upholstery shops...

I have some sport seats I wanna get reupholstered...I'm not looking to have the nicest seats ever, just presentable and not ripped. Anyone know any cheap upholstery shops? I called a place in San Jose and they told me 600$ for both seats. I think that's really high...a friend of mine told me his brother got his full interior redone for 400 and it was pretty good quality, the shop he didn't it at is no longer there, cuz it was about 3 years ago. Any recomendations would be great...

Okay...so i went to 3 shops...One was a nice shop, storefront,3 car garage, office, and everything. They wanted 900 for both sport seats in black vinyl. Ridiculous if you ask me! So i go to a different shop they told me 600 for them both...a little better. Then I go to "Jose's house" lol. aka Antonio's Upholstery. Which was disgusting and in no way shape or form would i ever think of paying this guy to do my seats said he'd do the two seats for 450$. What is this!? Am i better off buying it from the dealership? I mean cmon.

You wont get any cheaper than that. The Only way to do it cheap is just recover the sections that are torn. You can buy a kit from Kevin (creative options) for like 700 and do it yourself.
You wont get good quality leather re upholstery for cheaper than 700, unless you get a hook up or get really lucky

Those prices are silly. You could get new seats for that, or buy a used seat that isn't ripped for way less.

Also, a repair kit for 700 bucks? Lol... you can get a whole new set of leather from Katskinz for around that price and recover the sons of bitches yourself.
WTB late model, anywhere on the east coast will go as far west as Texas for the right car at the right price. 5 speed 6cyl only.

Yeah they are high. Haha lets see you cut leather nice and clean so the corners and tubing line up like the originals, and so they dont reip the and stretch the first time you sit on them.

I forgot to mention that i have vinyl. how much cheaper would that be, vinyl is leather enough for me...I'm not that fancy. 350 in real leather sounds good tho...I called that number, says it doesn't exist. Not a working number.

                    Vinyl is usually drastically cheaper.
It also can be better in some ways. It is stronger and more durable, but it just isnt the same.
                    I would do it though!

Well the reason why i would prefer leather over vinyl, other than price is that my back seat is vinyl also...
