I agree. I spent $700 on this setup for everything new. It adds up really fast. But when my bikes are over 2x the value of the car... it's worth it. I feel safe driving fast even with a "big" bike up top. :pimp:

I have one I'll sell. It's a yakima with a fairing, locks everywhere, two wheel-on bike racks that lock onto the rails, ect.Basically the rack locks onto the gutters, the bike racks lock onto the rails, the bike is held down by the front wheel and the rack locks onto the bike frame. It's very safe.

        2 of these:

Retail on this rack with all of the locks I have is right at $700. Make me an offer.

well.... got the 300 thule gutters and 50" load bars because according to the place I got them at, the 48" doesn't exist. oh well. hopefully it looks ok. how important is the fairing? does it help with the noise enough to get one ?

the load bars are metal, and can be cut to length because they have a removable end cap.

yeah that's what i was thinking of doing if it was still a bit big, did that on my mom's h3 and my sister's jetta. just wanted to make sure i wasn't missing a store somewhere that actually had the size.
