Asking for advices on a E30 for sale

Some of you might remember my '88 BMW 535i, unfortunately, I had to get rid of it last summer...
Since then, I've been driving a '00 Mazda Protege and I can't stand to drive such a boring car.
I had in mind to mod the Portege a bit to go autocrossing/lapping since it's the only car I can afford, but came on this deal last week...

    1988 BMW 325i
    4 Doors
Black on black leather (mint interior, dash is not cracked)
Original paint (has some defaults, minor rust)
320 000 KM (but the frame is so clean it's impressive)
    engine has 180 000 KM and is from an E36 (m50b25 non-vanos)
    engine head and gasket rebuilt
    Manual transmission from the E36
    Limited Slip differential
    short shifter
    SS headers from ebay
2 set of rims (winter & summer) with pretty much brand new rubber

    the bad:
drive shaft need to be change for an E36 one since it's too short (the car still run)
    clutch bearing is noisy

He's asking 3000$ CAN, or 2200$ CAN whitout the 2 set of wheels but with ugly green winter rims with "ok" summer tire.
He has some spare parts to give me such as M-Tech steering wheel, 2nd LSD, 2nd transmission, etc....

So what do you think? Anything I should know about the swap, what to check if it's been done the right way?
I would prepare the car for autocross/lapping and sunday drives...

    During the swap

    The E36 engine

    Thanks!

nice harness work. That things a trap. Plan on totally redoing his masking tape harness. And the line about the driveshaft sounds like BS. plan for the worst because youll probably be pulling the tranny to fix that noise. throwout bearing or pilot bearing likely

He said he opened the harness to check out something and didn't really taped it back, it's sure to be done! I read somewhere you need to change the driveshaft for an E36 one when swapping and M50, so why would it be BS? Thanks!

Ok then, I'll try to ask him questions about the swap and origin of the engine/trans. If anyone have more tips to add, feel free!

            Thanks!

How do you know it's the clutch bearing that's noisy. It might as well be the tranny itself. And blunt is right, even if it's just a bearing, it's a painful (or expensive) job to do it.

If you hear a grinding noise when depressing the clutch pedal, but you don't hear anything when your foot is off the pedal, it's gonna be the throw out bearing most likely, not the tranny itself. I just replaced my throwout last Tuesday, let me tell you taking out the tranny and putting it back isn't among my favorite activities.
