Hmm I dont really know what the exact number was, but it was less than impressive. I have no power steering and it's a cabrio. But it's peppy to 60 and fun in the summer 8)
They are very accurate if properly calibrated. If you just stick it on the widshield and go, of course the results will be way off. What you need to do is accurately weigh the car with the driver and the amount of fuel you will be using during testing.
