So it's been more than a year since my swap. Everything works perfectly, except for the neutral safety switch(The part that goes with the auto trans). I have it taped in the park position so my car will start. I haven't had reverse lights either. I understand that if you splice some wires or something you can delete this safety switch, and my reverse lights will then work. If anyone has any info on this...thatd be great! Kinda stuck here...with my center console ripped apart to fix my cigarette lighter...i want this big black thing out of here.

If you study the electrical schematics you will find it to be plug and play. All the wires and connectors are there. The automatic and the manual use the same wiring harness. I did my '91 vert when I changed it to five-speed. Everything works including cruise control.
I don't remember everything I had to do, but it is really simple. I guess I need to take the time to study it again and make a detailed write-up.

that write up would be awesome...cuz I followed that other guys, my car starts (thank god) but still don't have reverse lights. They worked with the auto. Guess i should check the reverse switch on the tranny. Can i get to it? or does the tranny need to be dropped also?(SOLD) 1988 327i Build Thread: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=155086
