    North Carolina Guys(gals too), quick help!

    Hey, this is kind of a odd question, but has anyone taken the "Alive at 25" driving class to get out of a speeding/driving ticket(or know anyone who did)?? If so, When you went to the class did they stamp or write anything on your receipt, or give you any other paper??
    I know this is a weird post, but i didn't go to the class, yet I have the receipt showing I signed up for it and paid.... Court date is tomorrow, and I think im just gonna hand them the receipt to drop the ticket, and not mention I missed the class... anyones thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

    BTW... I'm new to the forum, and just picked up a sweet little 318is. ...will post some picks soon. thanks

      yup, been there, done that. I dont remember actually getting a reciept or anything, just went and sat....

          I went to the class at Forsyth Tech in Winston Salem, NC and I think I remember that you do a worksheet or something that they take up. Its your call but you might could get by.

              I can just take a class to get out of my ticket?!

                  The officer who wrote you a ticket should have handed you a ticket that says you are allowed to attend the class and given you at least some kind of information about the class. If he didnt look at the ticket for info. on the class or call a number regarding your traffic violation and ask about taking the class. The class will not gaurantee you to get out of the ticket. Its more complex than that.

                      Some counties do not participate in the driving school class.

                          Yeah, I was on the highway and I got the ticket in some podunk county (Wilson Co.). Damn, that sucks. I know here in Pitt county, my roommate got a ticket and he just has to take a class. The officer said nothing about a class, but I must find a way to get out of this ticket! I don't have enough money for a lawyer, so I think the possibility of points on my license is very high. ...Crap.

                              Got out of it!!! whoo-hoo! I handed the DA the receipt, and he said i could go, not even giving me a chance to say i missed the class... Got out of it for $45... can't beat that.

                              Yea man, in this county if you're below 25 years old you can usually take a "Alive at 25" class if your offense wasn't too big a deal. Mine wasn't, so thats how it worked out.
