Stuck in NC, need an E36/E46 alternator asap!

Hey guys, need a hand. With a few guys here at Deals Gap, one of the guy's E36 328i had its alternator die last night on the way in. We limped the car to the resort (by swapping batteries with my Roadster every hour), but we'll need a replacement alternator to get home.

Any alternator from any E36/E46 6 cylinder will do, and we'll pretty much travel anywhere in NC or TN either today or tomorrow morning. Post here, no PMs if possible. Thanks guys.

Why not replace the voltage regulator? That's the most likely cause of the dead alternator... Auto Zone or other parts stores likely have them on hand...

It was the voltage regulator, but since it was a Saturday afternoon finding one anywhere near rural NC was tough! We eventually found an Advance Auto Parts about 4 hours away (near the warehouse) that could get it for Sunday morning and limped the car there.
