    Quick question

Yes...I'm the moron who hooked up the battery wrong thanks to a black positive cable. ANYWAYS...

I went back out to the barn today and hooked up a fresh battery and she started up first try, no problems. After about 5 mins it was idling great and sounded just like before I put it into storage. THEN. I turned it off to check the oil, went to re-start it and it was completely dead. I tried starting a different car with the battery and it wouldn't start either.

Does this point to a fried alternator? What else could hooking up a cars battery backwards cause that would drain a battery this fast?

ALSO: My friend picked up an engine, tranny, and some electrical shit from a 325e for $150 and has a spare alternator..will this work in my 318is?!

Alternator is probably toast. Toss a new one or a junk yard one in and see if it'll start it up again.
    Need a part? PM me.

it might work. it just depends on how it attaches to the engine in the 325e. 325's are 6cyl though and your 318 is 4cyl, so i dont think it'll fit..

it won't fit, I don't think. It might work if you change out the alt pulleys, might.
