    Picked up a 1995 530ia for $1000

Runs smooth has 140,000 on the clock, 8cyl engine

Black exterior on Tan interior (previous owner smoked so theres a few tiny burn marks near the drivers window) but otherwise decent interior and sunroof.

Anyone here have one and is there anything I should look for?

I should add that I have a green 525 touring I can pick parts off of all day available to me as well. The 530s front fenders are all dinged up and I grabbed them off the 525 parts car already along with window switches and tires. Going to put the fenders on in a little while.

I will add there is a good engine in the touring as well (it had a crapped out tranny). I heard about these problems with the nikasil linings of the cylinders on some of these 5 series models so i like having spares around.

I will post some pics later, when I get the fenders and other crap on.
I will have to shoot them black cause the touring is green.
I plan on painting the rims black and just driving it.

If anyone knows anyone who needs 1995 525 touring parts give a holler.

    I need Touring parts.

Do you have the two modules under the rear seat (black boxes)?

My Friends moms 530i hasn't been too reliable, always seems like some random oil or coolant leak, the headgaskets just went , that was a $2300 job, then the rear main seal just went a week after she got it back. It's always been some little things. I don't know if that's just the car, or her. Its a clean ass car tho.

Hey Massive, I will hit the parts car and look for the modules under the rear seat for you later today.

Tim the parts car has a 6cyl engine with 80,000 on the clock if the 8cylinder has a problem I will just do a swap.

My Touring with 2.5 Vanos M50 has 260k miles... It has proved bullet proof, excess for a few minor oil leaks.

The 3.0 litre V8 had problems if I remember properly.

I have a 95 540 w/ the m60... The coolant leaks can be an issue but it's not that bad once you are familiar w/ the system. And the valve covers are known for leaking but a very easy diy. I would highly suggest replacing the transmission fluid and filter, if you don't know when the last time it was done. (but don't flush the system)

And if it hasn't had any problems w/ the block yet, you won't have any after 140k. (plus it could have been replaced previously; mine was replaced at 39k miles)
