    Meyle ?

Have installed various Meyle parts on my project.
    (e.g. control arms)
Opted to purchase/use Meyle maintenance parts (water pump) on my g/f's Golf. So far, so good..

For some reason, I haven't been able to get my finger on the quality of these parts. Overall, Meyle parts have seemed to be a 'good-product-for-dollar' kind-of-part so far.

9/10 of the time, my justification goes something like: "Well, it's gonna be a shit-ton better than whatever worn-out, 20+ yr, original part is in there."

Anyone have long-term feedback on Meyle products?

The Meyle ball joints and tie-rods lasted about a year and a half on my '86 4000q before they were loose and the whole suspension was clunking around worse than before. It got so bad that the driver's ball joint separated as I was turning to back in my own driveway causing the wheel to fall off!! :hitler:

I've heard rumors that some of this supposed "OE" stuff was actually cheap Chinese junk. Hopefully this has been resolved. I'm still a little leary of their products though. Has anyone else heard similar?

      The VW guys hate Meyle.

I will add that their rsm's suck...mine blew out 4 or 5 times until I just bought the polyurethane ones.

        F@u%k !

Well, I guess I'll just ride out the [eventually quick] life on what I've got,

and take it as a lesson learned.
