Help a NOOB find the right thread...

My RPM and MPG needles gave out. All I found was some write up on switching the gears on the odometer part. nothing on troubleshooting the rest of the cluster.

Any hints and tips? good threads to check out ?

    Either replace the:

    tach unit
    SI board
    coding plug
    entire cluster

No matter what the best way to do it is to buy a spare cluster and either drop the new one in or steal parts from it.

if ur radio died too, it's a dead fuse.

the speedo and tach was acting up on a freinds eta we swapped the whole cluster and now it's 100% better!

usually when the tach and mpg dies or starts to act up, it's your SI batteries. i replaced mine and everything works now.

TIP: when you service lights comes on, reset it. i think this is what got my batteries because i didn't reset the lights for 2 years :D

well fuse 12 seemed fine but i still replaced it and no go. still no radio, RPM, or MPG. there was another fuse at the bottom of the square (can't remember the number) also a 7.5 that was burnt out so i replaced that one. if i have time later i may just go through and check each one.
