Not really, we need to know the offset, if its low you can fit wheels with out touching strut but you'll have rubbing problems, if its too high, like I said it will touch strut and you're going to need some hub centering spacers and lugs, which you already I guess have.95' M3.

that tire size is going to be oversized plus it's going to be a major clearance issue running a 17x 8.5 to begin with.....trust me, I am doing it. So, I recommend that you run 215/40/17 tires....yeah it will be a little strecthed but it will help in the fitting process.Comment

The tire will fit the rim but both are too large for the car, especially if it is lowered. I had 225/40/17 tires on my cabrio (on 17x8 rims), and had a small bit of rubbing. A 225/45/17 is almost a full inch (.9) larger in diameter so clearance will be much worse.
8.5 is really just too much rim unless you plan to keep stock 4x4 suspension or do major modifications. I do not see any sense on running a 215 tire on an 8.5 rim, unless you like the look of the rim sticking out.
Here are pics of my wheels on my cabrio. A 225 is barely wide enough for an 8" rim, IMO

Here is what happened to my front fenders when I lowered my car too much:

The whole issue with rolling the fenders is finding someone that can actualy do it without having to drive 800 miles to get it done. You're having issues with 15x7's Brew? That's odd man...I had 17 x 7.5 on 225/45 17's and I had some rubbing issues on hard turns in the front, other than that though, nothing.Comment

nice choice of wheels......I have the Kerscher Futuras which are 17x7.5 in the front and 17x8.5 in the rear. I don't mind rolling the fenders if it has to be doneComment
