    Brake Master Cylindar Question

So I am pretty new on this board and just bought a 88 325is. When I got it the brakes where kind of spongey and thought a simple brake bleed was in order as the car had sat a lot over the past few years according to the previous owner. Well, after bleeding the brakes it is still spongey and if I hit the brakes hard at about 70 mph to try to engage ABS the pedal goes to the floor and car slowes, but no where near the rate you would expect. ABS never engages and tires do not lock up. Brake Pedal does return. I have seen no leaks so it leads me to believe the MC is going.

I have read about changing the MC out and it doesn't sound too bad. (Correct me if that is wrong)

My question is I have read that E30 can be upgraded with a 25mm MC from a E32 7 series. Is this true for all E30's or just M-series?

Sounds like this gives you better pedal feel as it increases resistance if you go this route rather than the stock 23mm MC.

If so any concerns or other options to consider?

All E30s can be upgraded to the 25mm MC. I didn't really care for the brake feel after the upgrade, especially with stock pads.

If you depress the brakes, allow the pedal to come back up, then apply it again, and the feel gets better, the MC is bad. I'd just get a stock sized MC if I were you.
