Getting Ebay or Tirerack tires put on locally

Do anyone find it difficult to find someone to put on tires they didn't buy from the shop? Or they charge you extra to put them on?

Not so far. Couple local shops will do it. If you are using tirerack search their install facilities. They have a list.

just got to a joe-blow shop and tell them your going to do it. they usually dont give a fuck and will let you, that way if you scratch your rims etc etc, you dont have to blow anyones thumb off.

        nope.
Some places won't do any warranty, but i don't care. As long as they don't beat the hell out of the wheels.

          yup,

dealt with that as well. They claim that there are liability issues when not purchasing a tire from them and having them install it...

to an extent I can see that and pity them should they use that as an excuse, but in reality, I'm just getting a better deal online

The tirerack list tho. I went to one and they are $10 more per tire to mount than if I bought their tires. They didnt give me a hard time, just they speak their piece with the price.

Around $72 for 15" tires, including new stems. More if I have to get tires thrown away ($3/tire).

i went to a goodyear place near me and they wanted like 30 for mounting and balancing per tire. i was like shit... that's almost half of what i payed for my tires. I just ended up taking it to my old auto shop and doing it myself.

Yeah, I thought 20 a tire was expensive. Hmmm.

A little tire shop I always go to charges me about $12 per tire to mount and balance each tire. If I leave old tires there, its only $2 more per tire.

I took mine to a place called "Tires and Breaks" in the ghetto and they charged me $20 for all 4 with stick on wheel weights.
