So i found a couple manual transmissions for about $60 one out of an e28 and one out of a mid 80's 635ci. Does anyone know anything about these. Are they candidates for an m20 manual swap? I searched.

If the e28 was a 528e it could work. If the e28 was a 533i or 535i it won't work. The 635 tranny won't work.
You want a getrag 260.

And be glad your car takes the 260. It shifts a lot smoother than the 265.
