    Difference for it's own sake kinda sucks.
    Do you think the car has great balance now?
    - 2000 Audi S4 Stg 2 (sold)
    - house (bought)
    - 1997 Civic Hatch (shaky but driveable)
    - 2010 Sportster 1200 Forty Eight Ed. (vroom)

      I thought E30s had nearly 50/50 balance anyway, especially the 4 cylinder models... Why would you go through all that trouble to ruin the balance of a car? The only time I saw that done for a good purpose was old Dodge drag cars that also had the wheelbase severely altered to launch better at the strip.

        I bet the balance is pretty even. think of it this way, there is probably nothing in the trunk area, and the engine is a good 150lbs heavier than an M20 would be, so moving it back probably got a 50/50 weight distribution.
        Now, me being a Mechanic, I must ask... How the hell does one access the engine to work on it? Valve adjustments and spark-plugs would be a total bitch in that position...

          One would either have to use robotic arm extensions....or take out the motor. Judging by the low-budget exterior, I'd say they'd be pulling the motor every time.
          That's my guess as to why they're selling the damn thing. Who wants to go through all that every time some small maintainence item comes around.
