Difference between mudflaps?

As the title states is there a difference between mudflaps, i.e. early body style vs. late body? I ask because I was looking for a set to keep the dirt and grime off of the rear valence and behind the front fenders. But I have read in threads that there are early and late model mud flaps. True?

Here's a part number for reference:

Front: 72 60 1 906 952

Rear: 72 60 9 401 168

Are these late or early model?

you have 91 318is right?

Yes there is a difference but you have the right part #s.

I have a brand new set of Fronts in the package if you are interested.
