Anybody in the Providence RI area who'd be able to take a look at these for me?

Found 3 e30's on craigslist Rhode Island. 2 are fixer-uppers but for the right price. Another is at a used car dealership, but also for a good price. i was hoping to find someone in the Providence area who might be able to look at one of these for me, since I am in NYC.

the first is an '87 325e, black 4 dr, manual. 172,000 miles. Almost excactly what I'm looking for. they say the car won't start. Cranks slowly. My guess is that it just needs a new battery, though i could be wrong. I spoke with the owner. sounded honest and friendly. He says he would be willing to put the car on a flatbed and drive it out to me himself.

Take a look at the ad:

The next is an 88 4dr 325i, Gray. 147,000mi, manual. Ad only says it needs a tune up. Not sure what that means. Tried contacting the owner but haven't heard back yet.

The 3rd is at a used car lot. which I normally don't trust, but the price is very low. No photos or specific description on the ad, but if someone lives nearby who's willing to look at it, I'll call the lot and get some more info:

OK, so if there's anybody out there, lemme know. thanks!

Go with the 88, its the 'i' engine and its manual, AND it will be easy to swap plastic bumpers!!

No, I believe you're right. It is, afterall a used car dealer, so they probably got it wrong. Although maybe it comes with some premium package "is" options, like premiume speakers and 9 button OBS, but I wouldn't know cause there are no photos.

Am I the only one on this whole forum who actually LIKES the DB's?? I like the chrome look. And they're slightly more practical. I live in the city and have to keep my car parked on the street. As soon as some idiot does some shitty parallel parking job behind my car, those plastic bumbers are busted!! However, if I have DB's, their car's fucked.

If I'm free at all this weekend I could probably stop and look at some of them for you. The first one is only two towns up from me.

That's great, man. Thanks for the offer. I will get in touch with the owners and keep you posted. Does saturday work for you?

They said the car does not run. I'd like to make sure it's something simple like a battery or a starter. If it's a bigger deal, like the t-belt, then I'm gonna pass.

Plus, I'm looking for the usual: Decent body, minimal rust, etc. Doesn't need to be flawless, as it will be a city car.

The guy offered to truck it into Brooklyn for me, so this is so far the best deal I can find.

I realize that this car is an E and not an I. And yes, I realize that E's are slower than I's. But compared to the cars I've driven thus far in my life. a 325e is like a stealth bomber.

Saw those on craigslist, i suppose the 88 is gone. I would of looked into that ETA, had I not bought an e30. You might be able to talk them down since it won't start.
