Hi, I had the exact same problem as you. In fact, I just fixed it this morning. This may sound stupid, but I had the #6 spark plug wire and the coil wire switched. They're both unlabeled, at least for mine. The #6 spark plug wire is the one with the extra wire running out of it. The coil wire is the only unlabeled spark plug wire that looks just like all the other ones. Since they were both unlabeled, and the picture in my Bentley did not show any of the wires with an extra wire coming out of it, I figured that the wire with an extra wire coming out of it was the coil wire, well I was wrong, I switched it and now my car runs just like before. :D
Double check that, and make sure all the other ones are in the correct order as well. If you have a Bentley repair manual it will be on the last page of the 'Ignition' section.
If that's not the problem, tell us what you have checked so far. Do you have spark? Is fuel getting to your spark plugs? Is your timing correct?
If the answer to those three questions is yes, then the problem is not mechanical.
Also when you try to start, are you pressing the gas? That tends to help. How much gas do you have in the tank? Are your main relay and fuel pump relay connected properly?
Those are some things I've been told about for my experience with getting my car to start, I hope it helps. What kind of work were you doing to your car before it stopped starting? Did it just decide to do this out of nowhere? Or did you take it apart to work on it and put everything back together only to find it doesn't start?

well first of all thanks for replyin bro!! this problem has been happening randomly , the car doesnt have a mechanical problem engine works great, it seem like theres a gasoline cut or something like that.. today when that happened i was going to work as normal and from a moment to another the car dies.. it didnt want to start it was crancking but no fuel so i put some fuel on the t.b and it started in a few seconds.. i checked the fuses and 5 yellow relays and they where good.. anyways im gonna chek the plug wires tomorrow cause i remove the wires nd spark plugs to adjust the valves.. but i dont think that can be the problem!! i let u kno tomorrow man! thanks for the helpno more boosted m20, 91 318i...

You have prolly knocked a ton of shit lose when you changed out the pump and pluged up the filter again, Change that out and see if things get better. If not then move on this list
In order to check and confirm proper operation
Crank Position sensor, I know you changed it but confirm its operation and the harness lead
Fuel pressure before the regulator and the at the rail
FPR
Coil and the harness to and form it
AFM,
Temp sensor
ECM
