Oh we believed you. But, damn, its amazing a rock that small could cause that much damage.

a rock just like that totally destroyed my datsun 280zxt...it smacked the steering rack and cracked it, hit my tranny bellhousing and knocked that loose (grinding gear noise is just super), then hit my diff and the aftermarket cover i had on it BURST and my diff deep fried itself. The rock then proceeded to fly out from behind my car and go through the next guys windshield....fun fun fun, with extra fun on the side. :evil:

When there are rocks that big, I usually see them coming.

Any rock over 3" big is potential catastrophe when your car is hammered, keep your eyes open and always have an exit.

thats good advice, but the rock i hit was a piece of white cement, that looked like paper in the sun. by the time i got close, there was nothing i could do but bite my teeth and hope i could clear it....cant slam yer brakes or change lanes in morning rush hour without a major problem...

Hey I did that once... funny how your car can go airborn just from hitting a rock. I did get this really cool dent on my front crossmember though.
