Test Radio Antenna for 1987 325IC

How do I test the antenna motor on a 1987 325IC? It has red and white wires with ground at the connection to the unit. Can I run a wire from the battery and connect to one of those or how do I check the unit. It does not go up and I have checked the fuses.

Ground strap to (-) and both red & white to (+) should extend it...

Open it up and check belt and gears. If its a 6000el I have parts
