    electrical tape!!!

    was it a bad idea to wrap a nipple in my coolant system with electrical tape for a better seal? IE will it melt?

    yes. If its a threaded nipple, they make tape for that

          Depends on the electrical tape. There is some really high temp shit out there which Im sure you didn't use. 3M #32 electrical tape is rated up to 108 celsius.
