    Tekmo?

    Im a techno fan.

I really don't care what anyone has to say about techno, at least regarding to how they feel abou it. If you like it too, sweet. If you dont, go to the FS/WTB forum and keep yourself amused.

With that said...i dont know much about the different kinds of techno...like the difference between techno and trance? what? I dont know.

Anywho...i enjoy the kind of stuff that plays on lets say...ricey car videos...that sort of thing.

Can someone steer me in the right direction of some to download?

Trip-hop is what I like most. Go get some Portishead. It's slower, like most Hip-hop beats, but darker and more soothing. It has a female vocalist who kind of sounds like Tori Amos.

I'm a big fan of Drum & Bass style-electronic (I hate the word "techno"). Usually fairly fast BPM's (beats per minute), and good sampling/mixing. Some names to check out in that genre are AK-1200, Josh Wink, Rabbit in the Moon, and Dieselboy. For more kind of soothing beats, and a lot more mixing, try some down-tempo, such as Peace Orchestra, Orbital and Massive Attack. Trance is another favorite of mine, and this genre is FLOODED with great artists. For a good introduction, see if you can find any of the "Tranceport" albums, my personal favorite being Tranceport II by Dave Ralph. He mixes a ton of great artists cuts that are great on their own as well, such as Sasha, Christian Smith, Fragma and TR Junior. For more good trance, also check out JFK, ATB, Nick Sentience, Ferry Corsten and Photek. I'm also a huge fan of turntable DJ's. so if you're into that kind of stuff, check out DJ Shadow, Mix Master Mike, Q-bert, Yoga Frog, or the X-Cutioners for a little more hip-hop flavor.

Hope that helps. Now go spend some money (or just download the shit).

Great forum, serioulsy. I want to get out and see some more live stuff. I've been to the Cool School about 3 times before I was 21.
