    IS skirt/real OEM questions

Im having an issue figuring out what hardware is needed and or used to attach the skirts to the top of my rocker panels.

What out of that BS connects it to the top? I cant tell for the life of me. If I dont find and answer soon. I might just put
1 screw in the middle on each side. Id really REALLY like to avoid that and keep it clean...

    thanks r3v. :pimp:

    -Matt

PS anyone have pics of a car with them removed? so i can see what underneath?

    Please leave feedback below, thanks

If removed, there will be ONE drilled hole a little up front for the end piece, and one drilled a few inches behind it for the long piece.

    A hole for #8 and a hole for #4.
#4 hole is for the long piece although it looks like it is for the short piece in that pic.

    edit: oh, for hardware.
#5 is an 8mm screw exactly like the ones found to hold your fenders up, except LONGER. Do not use a fender screw in replacement of #5 or your skirt will fall off while driving eventually. #8 and #10 are those plastic push things with an end cap at the end to secure it. Once you pop it on, it is near impossibly to pop off unless you start bending it at it's lever piece thing carefully from where it is attatched (kinda like the way you un-do a ziptie).

Sorry if I'm a little vague, just got off work and wanna sleep.

I'll also tell you where is the best place to put the tape for the end pieces.

These white things go into the holes you drill into your fenders.
Behind the white clip, you will snap on a plastic self-locking nut thing on the nipple to hold it in place.

This is where the other white clip will go, and again, you need to snap on the other piece behind it so you secure the long piece of the skirt.

Finally, here is the long 8mm screw that will go into your SKIRT; FENDER; THEN "FRAME", or what ever the last piece is..

The white things are part #8
The cap that goes on the end of em is part #10
The long 8mm screw is part #5 (I think).

And yea, the long pieces use the same nipple/cap hardware.

when placing 8 into the hole made by the drill, 10 will snap into it from behind.

you are going to need either silicone paste or spray to goop up the male part (on the skirt ) and the female part (the green grommet) you need to apply pressure until it snaps in. if you just hit or "bop"it in there is a 50% chance you will break the grommet and have to pull it all back off again.

Please document the install, they're really is not much about what's needed as far as procedure to install the iS skirts or (M-tech II for that matter) with the factory hardware...that I've seen at least.
