Search for E30 buyers guide, there is tons of info out there (there was a thread within the last day or two with a very detailed one).

Two big things you need to look for: rust (not as bad as it's a california car) and when the timing belt was replaced. They should be replaced every 50-60k miles, water pump every other timing belt change. It wouldn't be a bad idea to pay a mechanic you trust to check out the car, either (usually they call it a pre-purchase inspection).

They've got some sort of body kit on it, I can't tell what it is though. If it's clean and in good shape, then it's not that bad a buy for $2500. Not a fan of autos myself though.

If it's as described, it looks like a good deal to me. It also appears to have some Zender pieces. I say do it.

Probably worth more in a good market. If the ad is correct I would buy it. GL

Go for it. Yeah, yeah...check all the bad stuff there might be but you really cant go wrong with that mileage and price. Most on here give good advice when they urge you to use caution, but in this case. Just do it.

You will have to learn to work the car and DIY. But thats the case with any Bimmer. I'd say this one looks pretty solid from what can be seen from the ad.

            Good luck!!

If you’re in the market for an BMW E30 (1983-1991 well technically to 1994 but let’s not get all technical :)) you should probably have a look at this buyers guide. Got this write up from http://www.e30forum.de/diyfaq/kaufberatung/kaufberatung.htm unfortunately it is in German... fortunately i have done my best to translate it to English! Enjoy! I have added and

              Try that

ask to see the maintenance records, but go for it. and with all due respect, be careful, the last thing we need is another "my first car" ending up as an insurance write off, especially a 1st gen 325is.

overall it looks good, go through the buyers guide and read up on what to look for. Looks like it has IX side skirts and flares, zender rear apron and spoiler. If it all checks out, $2500 is a great deal!

run a carfax on it and confirm the mileage, the instrument cluster is easy as pie to replace and/or run numbers back. If all checks out, I would buy it and please check thoroughly for rust! btw, the slight tick is normal.
