hello im new to the bimmer world i got given a 1987 bmw 325is and the history on it was the guys kid wanted to make it a rally car so he went ahead and started to tear it down and lighten up the car (he used wire cutters and a hammer) he tore apart the dash and cut some clear wires coming from the computer[ i don't know what they went to but i think its the reason why it wont start it ran before the kid got ahold of it but wouldn't start once he got done with it im a newb to the car world im used to trucks so i don't know a lot about them any help would be appreciated i just need to find out where the clear wires go from the computer thanks in advance i hope someone knows where they go lol

Aghh undo all the bimmerforums emoticons please I have no idea what you are saying.
Clear wires? are they speaker wires or something? There really aren't any clear wires coming from the DME that I know of.

Then you will have to trace the wire colors that have been cut.

they look like speaker wire but they go to the computer. the wires dead end about 3 inches out of the computers plug and i cant find anywhere what they went too im guessing its the soruce of the problem.Comment

You would probably be better off just getting a new harness and start from there. Do you have a Bentley yet? Thats going to help a lot. This may be a free car but from your painfully difficult to read run on sentence, it sounds like you have a lot of work ahead of you to just get this car moving. This almost sounds like you need to move on and find a running car and work on that instead.BMWCCA # 482566
