    radar detectors

I'm thinking about a radar detector in the near future.. anyone have recommendations? So far I only have experience with the Valentine1 which seems to work fairly well.

    Thanks

I debated between V1 and Passport... Finally went V1 because of the arrows. I love it.

v1 had the best reviews for a while. I've never owned a detector.

Don't own either but i know a lot of people argue about the better of the two
            The Valentine or 9500ix
I think from what ive learned they are both really good detectors

I use Passport 8500 Blue. I bought it used 3 years ago for $150. Still works fine.

I did a lot of research last summer when I was picking mine up. In the end of the day both 9500ix and V1 are great. I went with 9500ix coz I could get it for $400 (retail is $500) and it just seems like it has some newer tech.

+1 i've got the 8500 X50 and it has saved my ass many times, the 9500ix does look very nice, i looked at trading mine in for one but they only give you like a $80 credit. not worth it, until mine dies anyway. it was hardwired into my S4, i have yet to hardwire it into the e30, but the remote mute button is freaking great.

o i just realized it was you julien, you're welcome to check mine out some time if you want, the escorts are great & reliable.

v1's are definitely dope, i went for the escort over the v1 because the single antenna design gives slightly better range, but i can definitely understand why people like the arrows on the valentine, my roommate has 1 that we used driving across the country & it was pretty nice.

Every time I got close to buying a V1, I'd see the highway patrol on the freeways going to and from work using laser. But then again I go down to socal a lot and whenever I ride in my friends' cars with V1, we've been saved a couple times each trip so I'm still undecided whether it's worth it or not
