I'm saying bye-bye to my car - (Warning:LOTS of pics)

    :(

Well after much consideration, I'm going to be selling my beloved 318is and start saving up for the M3. I want to be able to buy a M3 when a nice example strolls by.

Anyways, I have only owned the car for about a year, and since then I have put in countless hours of time, money and work. My life has been devoted to the car, and it has taken me away from much of social life, my girlfriend doesn't like this too much :P I would imaging that once I get the M3, I will be polishing the car and/or staying glued to the computer screen for even longer time.

Anyways, here are some pictures of when I first purchased the car, and its progress.

At CG Motorsports where I had the pre-purchase inspection:

Got the keys, driving 'my-car' for the first time

Gave the inside a quick clean, but still pretty dirty :?

First mod! Clear turn signals, and got a fog-blank on (it was missing)

Vancouver E30 meet, with tinted windows

2nd meet, my car was lowered on Bilstein Sports & H&R Sports

I got the Ryan G splitter and Euro trims too (w/ a nice mountain back drop)

    DIY Red tails

Being proud of my really cool and fast car.

    @ the BMW dealership

Got my euro smileys, grille, and diamondschwarz kidney grille on

Recent night pic. Euro plate on

Got the IS skirts and RD apron on, after a quick wash

Engine bay is starting to look clean too

    z4 3.0 shifter, brand new knob/boot, e36 leather ebrake handle/boot

    Polished aluminum gauge bezel

eBay pedals and my Clarion deck shown

closer look at the IS skirts, paint came out suprisingly well, i was very satisfied

RD apron, this pic shows off the not-so-perfect fitment

    8)

Well if you are reading this, thanks for waiting around for all these pics to load.

I'm going to be parting out the following, how much do you think I can get? I will ship some stuff, but I'm going to try selling locally first. I just want you guys' opinion on how much I should ask for, thanks!

    - clear turn signals
    - IS Skirts (painted diamondschwarz)
    - RD rear apron (painted diamonschwarz)
    - Clarion dxz645 deck
    - RyanG. Splitter
    - Euro bumper trims (front'n'back)
    - *added* Rear stress bar

and possibly a set of Bilsteins Sports shocks and H&R sports springs.

    thanks for lookin'

    - Hiro

      Good luck finding an M3 worth buying - I can't even find a 325iS

You smart to get out now. It feels great to have the money ready when a car comes along.

Too bad, that car was starting to look awesome. At least there's much better on the way man.

I'm gonna be very patient. I'm going to wail until the perfect car comes along. Actually I'm getting some information on importing cars, and seeing as my native country is filled with nice M3s, and I happen to know relatives and friends in the car industry, I may try to import a car after all.

There's a nice-sounding 325is, but it's black. You only want green right? I think that will be a pretty tough color to find. Good luck to you too :D

Yeah, I REALLY want green - they only made it in 1991 for coupes.

I passed on a green, 91 325i SPORT, 2 door, 5 speed in mint condition a few weeks ago because it had 235,000 MILES on it. It needed to be shipped so it wasn't worth shipping a car with such high miles. I hope I find another one like it some time soon. I've been looking for over a year.

I've been looking into importing too cause i'm looking for a green one all over N.A. It's not too costly.

I hope you find what you are looking for.

              thanks man,

I had in plans - BBS RCs or RSs, HIDs, M-tech II steering wheel, MarkD chip.

I really love my car, there's no doubt about that. I'm a little too obsessed with my car. But I'm just being realistic here. No matter how much I invest in the little car, it's a 15 year 318is to the insurance company. With all the money that goes into the 318, I could buy the M3. E30 M3 has been my dream car since I was like 14. 6 years later, I hope to own one, and I hope to keep the car for a long time.

Initially, I was on the hunt for a E30 M3, but I realized that if I bought it, I would have no money left for mods and repairs. But now, if I get rid of the car, I can comfortably afford the car, especially with the summer work season just ahead of me.

It's gonna be so hard to sell this car :(

Ryan G splitter and euro trim VERY interested. Before someone says shit about not callling dibs. I got bank account with $ connected to paypal as well as CC.

I think you would be well off to keep your car. M3 = expensive to maintain. Remember who sold theirs shortly after buying one and got a Miata? I'd dig a 318is if I didn't love 6cyl sound so much, but nice rides. still, respect to you if you want to try and do it. and plus, I can get yo shit!

I'll keep my eyes open around town for a green 325. Do the same for me, and give me a shout if you see a nice M3 8)

You can call dibs, but I won't be selling everything for couple more weeks, I'll post it again on FS forum, I'll keep you first in line - but as I said, I'm going to try the locals first, because I hate shipping.

If I 'needed' a car to get around, I would keep the 318. But I don't. I bus to school (because the parking pass is hard to get and extremely expensive, especially after tuition and bookcosts). I work close to home, so I can always bus or bike there if I needed to. I have a car because I love cars and I love driving them, not really to drive from point A to B.

Ideally I would love to have both, but I can't afford to do that...

Please do! I will be more than happy to pay I finders fee. I'll have much more time to deal with it in two months (summer break).

There is a true euro M3 for sale in Calgary - I saw it in person at bimmerfest this past summer. Here's a pic I took -
1987 BMW M3 Euro Special, diamond black with black leather interior, 135,000 original kms, 2 door, ABS, alarm with immobilizer. Power moonroof, power brakes, power locks, power windows. 5 speed standard transmission, 4 cylinder, 215 hp, regular service with records. Everything on the car is factory original. Third owner, DTM factory race exhaust. DBS rims on excellent rubber, CD player with factory premium sound. Very well maintained, garage stored. Many extras. Immaculate condition Asking 20K

                        A red one

I guess you aren't ready to buy anyway ;)

                        Good luck !

what's up with Alberta and their freakin' M3s!!!! I have been looking at buysell, ebay, s14 regularly and I havent seen anything. Then you give me link to 3 decent looking cars.

Spencer, do you know anything about the red M3?

I thought the 215hp engine on M3s came out in late 89 in Europe?

I don't know anything about the red one - but it's local i'd be happy to give the guy a call and go check it out when I have time if you are thinking of buying.

That black was was really nice at bimmerfest! Those M stripes don't look good though.

                            Let me know,

That's funny. We both have relatively FEW mods/plans, but they are/were incredibly similiar. Awesome. :D
