brakes went out?

i was driving and went to kit the brakes and the pedal went all the way to the floor. i used the e break to slow down right then but found that if i pumped the pedal the brakes would work so i crept the rest of the way to work and am calling some shops right now to see if anyone can look at it but was wondering what you all think it might be? it was working perfectly all yesterday and this morning for a little and then they just they just went limp.

ive heard that it could be the master cylinder. how much would that be to fix? also if anyone can give me some free knowledge on what happened and why it might have gone out? i need some free knowledge=]

MS, a bleed in the line somewhere, ABS problems, could be alot of things.

i guess ill just take it in to somewhere. im in burbank right now at warner bros. studios and can take it somewhere close at lunch if anyone knows somewhere thats good/fast/& close.
