Hahaha..about the V. That is so true. That is why I love their sound though, it is so thick. I like thick necks ;) There is a certain way you have to sit with them, and i like how it plays sitting down than a "standard" shaped guitar.

Purdue homie, out of those 3 I would suggest the Epiphone Les Paul. I had one of those guitars, great guitar. I am not an Ibanez fan (sorry to you guys). I hate AC/DC so I hate SG's LOL That is all I think about when I see an SG.

i agree that you should take gibsons into serious consideration if you're an established guitarist, but i wouldnt have wanted one as a first guitar. I think fernandes makes good all around guitars, they have at least one humbucker on any model, alot use seymour duncan pickups as OE, most have the "sustainer" neck pickup, theyre very light, and for a little extra $$$ you can get the neck-through body on some models plus unique inlays. ive had a fernandes for a little over 2 years, and i still prefer it over any strat (incl. american) or ibanez ive played. the fit finish and sound blow away almost anything else in its price range.

If you have a guitar center around, they will match any price, so you can just show them the price at musicians friend. That way you can try them out, and play the actual guitar before you buy it.

            Slander! I never said I hated AC/DC
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
            Mark: "You never will."

Taylor makes a Big Baby guitar that is very well made and has great sound. It is a 2/3 size dreadnought acoustic and can be had for about $350 all day long on Ebay. I have a Big Baby and a 610CE custom, but the Big Baby is great for kicking it around, travelling and the like. I would never take the 610 to the beach, but would carry the baby without a problem. Just a thought.
