If he's not a "car guy" and needs something low-maintainence and easy on gas, I'm going with Josh on this one and say Honda Accord or Toyota Camry. My 01 4-cyl Camry is extreamly reliable.

"teggy"
"vtech"
holy typos.
In all fairness -- I've driven both a DC2 Integra LS/base model and a GSR (1.6l shitty shit shit and the 1.8 VTEC motor respectively, 142hp vs. 170hp)... they're fairly good cars to drive, but not exactly comfortable, and, well, it's FWD, so it's still like you're running around with your shoelaces tied together. VTEC is kinda cool (hit 4k and a-whole-nother wave of power appears outta nowhere, watch out for torque steer though)
Fun cars, but I wouldn't recommend them to anybody who isn't looking for one. I certainly wouldn't own one.-Mike

^ its funny about non-car people driving cars w/power bands like that. My freinds brother had a nice little s2000. I asked him (before I had ever driven it) about how that VTEC felt... he had no clue what I meant. I broke it down, told him about a big boost in power above 5k (or whatever, it redlines at 9k). He said he never rev'd the motor that high, since it wasn't good for it.1989 cirrisblau-metallic 325iComment

my dad must have purchased a really shitty V70 then, because his has plastic panels falling of and rattling everywhere, window motors breaking, wiper motors breaking, suspension components... the motor hasn't broken yet, though.Comment

Haha. The buddy of mine who has the DC2 LS told me not to go over 3k. I asked him why and he said it was bad for the motor.^ its funny about non-car people driving cars w/power bands like that. Silly non-car people not understanding how engines work.
Sounds like it... If the car gets beat up a lot then it's more prone to fail in stupid ways like that, also I think a few years could have had problems like that. Generally they're built pretty good and fun cars to drive. Safe/reliable/etc too.-Mike
