So here is a bit of bad luck. Been out of work for like 2-3 months. On the way back to chattanooga from atlanta in my truck. Transmission went out. So i sold my truck upset but i was like hey ill get to put new tires on my bmw and try and get it through emissions and all that. So in high spirits i put some new tires on it. Went today for emissions and failed. I knew i would so wasnt a big deal. c02 was ok but HC was way hi think it was like 878 limit was like 220 or something and then co2 was .70 max allowed is 1.2. So anyways i stopped to get some parts for a plumbing job i am doing for my parents. Then off i go to my parents house to have my dad tweak on the bmw to try and make it through emissions. Sitting at a red light to turn left. Light turns green car in front of me doesnt move so i dont move. BAM!!!! bitch behind me crunches my Mint Original Euro Bumper.....kinda pissed about it. Luckily she has full coverage and i will be taken care of, But now im wondering if i am gonna be able to find some mint original Euro bumpers or am i gonna have to go with Replicas? Or what. Lol. Thanks Guys.

you talking about actual euro bumper or plastic bumper with euro trim? either can be found on this forum. As for replicas, I don't think there are replica (metal) euro bumpers, correct me if im wrong

Damage looks to only be at the Rear Metal Euro Bumper. Like 1984 Euro metal bumper. I Dont have a picture of the damage yet. no camera.

Can another insurance company total out my car? I can understand my insurance could but not anothers. When they hit me? And i doubt the damage is really bad enough to do that but curious if another insurance can total out someone elses car vs's fixing it.

Absolutely they can total your car. The insurance company is not responsible for fixing your vehicle only for what they consider "fair market value" which, lucky for you, is negotiable. If there is paint damage beneath your bumper they will most likely total your early model euro bumpers and all. You should start accumulating documents/receipts/for sale ads to prove your vehicle is worth more than $1185.

Hopefully it's not that bad but prepare for the worst.

there is defiantly paint damage underneath the bumper. Not a lot just a few small scrapes. Will need to be painted.(rear valance). That kinda sucks that they can total out my car lol. My dad built this car and it has been one of my dream cars. I get the car and then shortly after get hit lol. I have rotten luck lately.

So how do you compare one e30 to another? Seriously over there years they are all slightly different. And mine is no where near stock. Hell the 4 lug bbs rims are worth more then 1k imho lol.

If the insurance company is going to total it you need documentation to show how much euro bumper, bbs and any other aftermarket parts are worth in good used condition. New prices are not necessary because once again the only owe you for fair market value not replacement cost.

You might get $1500 on your own...but I bet not. Those bastards are rough.

So 100% of $1500 vs. 66% of $6500....Hmmmmmm.

You also brought your lawyer buddy easy money, so if you needed more help in the future, you might get some love back.

Thanks Luke. Good point. I will defiantly look into that if they try and fuck me, which they probably will. Oh and im not sure which insurance company it is. I Called her agency which was just the middle man for the insurance company. He said they name but i cant remember i have it written down somewhere.
