More than you can afford pal, E30 *vroom* *vroom*

Expect to pay $5k+ for a beautiful one. You can find nice ones for $4k or so.

if you pay 5k you better be getting a 1 owner, mint interior, low mileage one

        Cheap ass.

My dad's old '89 325i was mint, with some minor mods and 130k. It sold for $9600 two years ago.

Was just about to say, that's a bit of a stretch...you can, once in a while, come across one of these for around $5k in certain regions. I wouldn't set your watch to it though, have seen plenty of $5k e30s with skeletons in their closet.

Thats true. When I was in the market for an e30, I found one that sounded good in the ad. It was a 325is, 5-speed, decent miles, "custom m3 color", 17" rims... When I met with him, the "custom m3 color" was a crappy purple paint job. Three rims were 17s and one was a 16. Had the crappiest install of a tach in the area behind the shifter. The shift linkage was probably the worst I have ever felt. When I just started to drive it, the hood poped up and I had to get out and reclose it. And here's my favorite part: I noticed the center console was different because it had a large storage comartment right behind the e-brake which made it a pain to use the e-brake. It turned out that he just zip-tied an Accord center console in there. It wasn't even the right color!
It was a hard decision, but I decided not to buy it.
