FRP Reproduction pre 88 euro bumpers

Been playing phone tag with DTM Fiberwerkz but wanted to get R3v's opinion.

Who here would buy a set of FRP reproduction pre 88 euro bumpers?
They already offer reproduction Mtech I kits, why not these?

I for one would buy a set if they were priced less than what one would expect to pay for a set of genuine bumpers (less than $350 for a set). Granted they wouldn't be chrome but would still save a lot of weight while looking good. If they produced a kit that used the original turn signals all the better.

Maybe if we band together and came up with at least 10 people ready and willing to buy a set they could put something like this into production.

New genuine set is much much more than 350...so I am sure cheap replica will sell for $350 a set even.

Don't forget you'll be spending another $200+ on the trim easy, plus the mounting hardware/brackets.

What about the thickness of them? The chrome ones are not really that thick and having them in fiberglass may cause issues. I'm not talking about someone backing into you but say you may prop your knee on it and the bumper being thin, well you know what happens next!

Ohhhhhh, fiberglass reproduction? lol no. I thought he was thinking the same thing Bavarian in rancho was selling, metal euro bumper replicas for fraction of the cost.

Jean, I bought one of those center sections for the front of mine when i ran my e30 into my house. It fit pretty good, i think i only had a problem with one hole not lining up.

Yeah, but like you said fb would be a different story. Plus, euro bumpers don't really have any reinforcement like the plastic bumpers and as you know they mount directly to the small brackets....would probably need some washers or something to prevent them from cracking etc... imho i don't think it's a good idea.

I'd be interested depending on price, in either steel or 'glass. I'm looking to save weight as well as improve cosmetics.

Are the OEM primered sections thicker metal than the chrome variant?
