Alright guys. I've looked all over and of course finding a comparison of a 20 year old car to something new like an evo is about impossible to find so I'm looking for some advise from people that have possibly driven both and aren't just stuck up BMWs ass. Basically I just graduated highschool and I'm off to college soon and I have a 318IS DD and a m3 project car. After riding in and driving my friends STI its hard for me to want to hold onto my cars. I prefer the STI looks over an evo but the evo is the better performer and thats what I look for in a car so I'm debating dropping what I have and possibly picking up an evo but I've never driven an e30 m3 so I'm really skeptical I might miss out on "the ultimate driving experience". Sure, the 318 is a fucking beast around corners but lacks power... If i were to finish my m3 I'd do the 2.5 build on it so it should be pretty quick. I don't know, its a really hard choice I just need some input from people with more experience then me. Maybe I'm just getting burnt out on bmws from constantly looking at them on the internet....

Sell your 318, keep the m3 at your parents house while youre at college, and get an evo VII. The m3 when finished properly will be worth it.Originally posted by teamdynasty43Aye listen here ph fucking dick cheese mother fucker ...go back to touching your self or your fucking boyfriend because you're just some dumb mother fucker that has no fucking life than other to ridicule others because you have no fuckin life and low self esteem so you try to make your self feel better so you act all big!!!! yeah I probably could do that but the m3 needs about 10 grand invested in it to get it where I want to be. I got it for extremely cheap though so I know I can pour money into it and get every penny and more out of it if I decide to sell. I just couldn't really fund that project and make payments on an evo. If i could keep both that would be ideal.

I'd have time to finish the m3. It'll take me about 3 years I'm guessing working on it with breaks and summer. The trouble is if I get an evo it will decrease in value and I wouldn't be able to just sell it and get the same M3 i'd have if I had waited and built it myself. Basically I'm just wondering if the e30 m3 is THAT good to drive. I mean everywhere says they're damn amazing but I can't see it being better then an evo or something of that sort....

heres a grand master plan. Sell 318is. Market it as an m3, and trick some newb into buying it for m3 money. With this money, buy an older wrx, and you may still have change left over. Invest change into m3.Originally posted by teamdynasty43Aye listen here ph fucking dick cheese mother fucker ...go back to touching your self or your fucking boyfriend because you're just some dumb mother fucker that has no fucking life than other to ridicule others because you have no fuckin life and low self esteem so you try to make your self feel better so you act all big!!!! why don't you just keep the 318 through college, save money, and when you graduate, properly build the m3 or sell both and buy whatever ricer car you want.Flickr

fancy cars in college are a hassle. i wish i had purchased my e30 after college, and just driven my toyota during it. would have saved a lot of money/hassles.
its not the most fun, but its good sense. high schoolers and fast cars usually equal trouble.

I would take the STI over the MR anyday. yes, in the hands of someone with experience the MR is faster around a track than an STI, chances are you will never come close to the limit in either car so take the one less likely to break. I have driven both at or near the limit and an E30 M3 even with a 2.5 can not hang with a lightly modded STI or MR.
With that said what car would I rather drive at a track day? The E30 ofcourse, that is why I will never sell my E30.
