318is differences?

so i am pretty sure i am looking at a 1990 318i or 318is
is that totally different than a 1991 318i or 318is?
confused?

how long was the 1991 318is motor in producttion for US Cars? were they used in the e36s?

There was no 1990 318i or 318is. Production started in 1990, but they were all 1991 models. The 318ic continued until 1993. The E36 used a slightly modified M42 and later a 1.9L M44. Both can be swapped into an E30 with little trouble.

I think the 318i was available as a 90 but I could be wrong. I haver seen or heard of a us 90 318is, only 91.

2002maniac is right, they are all 91 model years. Except for the verts.
