Little things here and there, best to just make it run tip-top in stock form and spend your money on suspension/tires/brakes.

E30 - "HB" as in Huntington Beach? if so, do a search here for posts by "Peerless" - Robert owns a independent shop on Metzler Lane in Huntington Beach and specializes in E30's. Pls arrange to have him look at the car for you. Will save you grief and $$ in the end.

          and also:

that is an '85-87 e30, NOT an '88-89. The coolant res is on the pass side. (can't believe the rest didn't catch that!)

a little rust on the muffler is no biggie. But timing belt records ARE a biggie.

the rough idle is probaby an easy fix. Small vac leak, dirty ICV, or just needs a tune-up.

and $4500 is too much, unless it is in 100% mint condition, mechaniclly and cosmetically.

This. That car is NOT an 88 or 89, I'd take everything the seller says with a grain of salt.

LOL i should kick you in the nuts for that. nah dude. cheap muffler tips always go to shit. look under the trunk carpet, under spare, below the battery, on drivers or pass floor pans. if you dont want to pull up the carpet.... try to give it a couple whacks and see if it sound solid or loose. inspect around the trunk and wheel wells very closely.

I have 2 guys interested in my Honda civic HB, soon as it sells I can finally get this e30.

Is there a way to fix oil leaks on these cars? Ive read on this board it very normal for them to have leaks.

Guy just offered me 3700 for my civic. Yessssss i hope he doesnt flake.
